Gian Luca Galletti
Graduated in Economic and Commercial Sciences, he worked as an accountant and auditor in Bologna since 1989 for banks and companies. He is married and has four children.
From 1990 to 2009 he was city councillor in Bologna, as well as budget councillor between 1999 and 2004. In 2005 he was elected regional councillor of Emilia Romagna assembly for UDC (Union of the Centre party).
In the 2006 elections he was elected deputy to the Chamber of Deputies on the UDC list. Galletti became Vice-President of the UDC at the Chamber of Deputies on 21 March 2012.
The following 26 April, he was elected by acclamation as the new leader of the Unione di Centro at the Chamber of Deputies.
On 2 May 2013, he was appointed Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Education, University and Research during Letta’s Government.
He was Minister of the Environment and Protection of the Territory and the Sea from 22 February 2014 to 1 June 2018. On 14 February 2020 he was appointed President of the UCID for the three-year period 2020-2023.
