The news of the violent earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria in the last few hours has deeply affected and upset us. This tragedy touches us deeply in light of our bond of friendship and cooperation with Turkish and Syrian communities and dioceses, strengthened through the project “Mediterranean, Frontier of Peace, Education and Reconciliation.” The bewilderment and pain of the Turkish and Syrian students we host in the Citadel becomes a wound shared by the whole Rondine community.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the grieving young people, families, parishes, bishops and communities who have tragically lost their loved ones, their homes, their stability, their health.
