Sofia Gentile

Sofia Gentile was born in Vittoria (RG) in 2005 and is a former Rondine student, having attended the Fourth Year in Rondine program in the school year 2021/2022. From that very experience, she developed the social-impact project “Noi Posso” (“We Can”) that deals with inclusion, legality education and care for the environment, which Sofia has been carrying out since September 2022 in her city, Vittoria (RG). Since the very start, the project has involved many young people, experts, the “Catholic Action” organization, as well as several local associations and service clubs.

Since October 2023, after graduating from the I.I.S. “G. Mazzini”  Classical High School in Vittoria, Sofia has been attending her BA course in Social and Occupational Psychology in Padua, also becoming a member of the city’s Galilean School of Advanced Studies.

In 2024, she was appointed “Alfiere della Repubblica” (“Ensign of the Republic”) by President Sergio Mattarella for her project “Noi Posso” (“We can”), conceived during her year in Rondine, with the following motivation:

“For being able to convey through music the importance of the culture of legality. The voices singing in unison in her choir have become an instrument of social cohesion.”
