What do Franco Vaccari, Gloria Estefan, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi and Didier Drogba, have in common? The keyword is TED! The President of Rondine Citadella della Pace will be among the speakers of  the next event promoted by TED to be held on April 19 in Rome in Via della Conciliazione. But, what is TED? It is called “the Oscar of Ideas”, “the genius of Hollywood”, a mix of science communication and entertainment. TED means “Technology Entertainment Design”, it is a project, unfortunately not so known in Italy, created by a non-profit organization which was founded over 25 years ago in California. Its fame is now rampant throughout the world, as the new media phenomenon of the third millennium. TED is based on the motto “ideas worth spreading” or “ideas worth to disclose” that’s why  Rondine  could not miss this project.  For over  fifteen years, Rondine has been  promoting the resolution of conflicts through the experiences of young people who discover the person in their “enemy” through coexistence and the sharing of everyday life. A simple idea that can really change the world. Proposals must be submitted in 18 minutes during the TED events. The performances  are then archived and made freely available to all users on TED portal. People can also talk to each other through the community “TED Conversation,” which allows fans to interact. It was also set up an award: “TEDprize”, that is assigned to three people who want to improve the world. The TEDx events are local, independently organized, always in the spirit of “ideas worth spreading”. Each reality can choose how to organize their own TED … The formula invented by TED involved personalities as Bill Gates, Larry Page and Bill Clinton. For the first time TED has arrived at the Vatican. The event of 19 April TEDx Via della Conciliazione is organized by Giovanna Abbiati, expert in new media for the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, in collaboration with Cortile dei Gentili, headed by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi. And it presents itself as a global meeting to talk about religious freedom today. On stage will be personalities of different religious, celebrities, intellectuals and stars of sport. All of them, from the stands, could present  their opinions about the relationship between religious freedom, human rights and the development of peoples. Among the speakers who have already confirmed their presence, will be – as anticipated – Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, the Cuban-born singer Gloria Estefan, the Egyptian human rights activist Lamia Aly Mekhemar and footballer Didier Drogba.
